First Day of School

What should we do on that first day back at school? The chances of working are slim, and the chances of panicking about a lack of work are high.

I came up with my own solution. The names have been changed to protect the innocent, but here's a copy of the email I sent to the Deputy Principal of a school where I work regularly...

Hi Deputy,
If nobody loves me on the first day of school can I come hang out with your preps rather than mope at home? Happy to lend a hand wherever needed :-) 

So my worst-case-scenario is to spend the day at a school I love with a group of kids on their very first day of school... not such a bad start to the year after all.
